SUMMARY
EXISTING KNOWLEDGE
Language and Learning: Prior research highlights the importance of using the mother tongue in education, as it can enhance understanding, engagement, and retention of knowledge among students.
Gender Differences in Education: Studies indicate that gender can influence students' attitudes and perceptions towards various subjects, including entrepreneurship, with societal norms and expectations often shaping these attitudes.
Entrepreneurship Education Importance: Entrepreneurship education is increasingly recognized as vital for fostering innovation and economic growth, necessitating an understanding of factors that affect students' attitudes towards this field.
NEW INSIGHTS FROM THIS STUDY
Positive Attitudes Linked to Mother Tongue: The study finds that students who receive entrepreneurship education in their mother tongue exhibit more positive attitudes toward the subject compared to those taught in a second language. This suggests that language plays a crucial role in shaping students’ perceptions and interests.
Gender Impact on Attitudes: The research reveals notable gender differences in attitudes towards entrepreneurship education, with male students generally expressing more favorable views than their female counterparts. This indicates that gender dynamics significantly influence engagement with entrepreneurial concepts.
Cultural Context Matters: The study emphasizes the importance of considering cultural and contextual factors when developing entrepreneurship curricula, as these factors can affect students’ attitudes based on their linguistic and gender backgrounds.
PUTTING RESEARCH INTO PRACTICE
Mother Tongue Instruction: Integrate the use of the mother tongue in entrepreneurship education to foster better understanding and positive attitudes among students, enhancing their engagement with the subject matter.
Gender-Sensitive Curriculum Design: Develop entrepreneurship curricula that address gender-specific needs and perspectives, promoting inclusivity and encouraging female students to engage more actively in entrepreneurial education.
Cultural Relevance in Teaching: Ensure that teaching materials and methods reflect the cultural context of the students, helping to create a more relatable and effective learning environment for all
